Rules and guidelines for using our website, services, and communications.
Last updated: July 28, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using thesolarcommunity.com (“the Website”) and any services provided by The Solar Community (“we,” “our,” or “us”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our Website or services.
2. Description of Services
The Solar Community connects customers to community solar programs and solar installation services. We are a customer acquisition and enrollment team — we are not a utility company, solar farm operator, or electricity provider. Our role is to:
- Review your utility usage and determine eligibility for community solar programs.
- Estimate potential savings based on information you provide and current program offerings.
- Facilitate your enrollment with partner community solar providers (e.g., Pivot Energy, Ampion, Common Energy).
- Connect you with solar installation options where available.
Actual savings may vary and are determined by your utility provider and the community solar program — not by The Solar Community. Estimated savings are based on the information you provide at the time of enrollment and are not guaranteed.
3. Eligibility
To use our services, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Provide accurate and truthful information about your utility account and energy usage.
- Be the account holder or have authorization from the account holder for the utility account you enroll.
- Reside in a state where our community solar or installation services are available.
4. No Guarantees
While we work hard to connect you to the best available programs, we do not guarantee:
- Specific savings amounts — actual savings depend on your utility, usage, and the program's terms.
- Program availability — community solar programs are subject to capacity limits and provider criteria.
- Uninterrupted service — programs may change, and we are not responsible for provider-side changes.
5. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information when using our forms and services.
- Notify us promptly if your contact information or utility account details change.
- Use our Website and services lawfully and not for any fraudulent or unauthorized purpose.
- Not attempt to interfere with the proper functioning of the Website.

8. Third-Party Providers
Our services involve connecting you with third-party community solar providers and solar installers. Each provider has its own terms, conditions, and policies. The Solar Community is not responsible for the acts, omissions, or service quality of third-party providers. We encourage you to review the terms and conditions of any provider you enroll with.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Solar Community and its officers, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost savings, utility billing discrepancies, or service interruptions — arising from your use of our Website or services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or our services shall not exceed the amount you paid to us (if any) in the twelve months preceding the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on liability; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Solar Community and its officers, employees, and contractors from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of our Website, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to our Website and services at our sole discretion, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to us, other users, or third parties.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Website after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
